Dr. Andrew Vo attended the University of California, Irvine, prior to his dental education. Currently, he is practicing as a Captain in the United States Army since graduating from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC in 2015. Dr. Vo graduated from the one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Fort Carson in Colorado and is now stationed at Fort Irwin, California.
Dr. Vo was introduced to dentistry after graduating from college by Dr. David Eggleston. Dr. Vo’s passion has always been to give back to the community. While at UCI, Dr. Vo founded and started an organization called, “Care-A-Thon.” This organization has collectively raised over $300,000 throughout the continuous years to help local hospitals assist infants and their families in the NICU. With the same passion of helping others, Andrew believes in being well-balanced and aspires to truly make a difference in the world. He has been involved with AYUDA, an organization that provides free dental care for those who are less fortunate. Dr. Vo has served on mission trips in third world countries including: Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia. While at USC, Dr. Vo was a student ambassador, President of the Vietnamese Dental Student Association, a teacher assistant in pre-clinical courses, and participated on many selective teams. Dr. Vo teaches a spin class in his spare time. He co-founded and is serving as co-captain for the first military team to ride at AIDS/LifeCycle raising over $20,000 to help end HIV/AIDS. He has also helped create the USC Hiking and Jogging Scholarship with Dr. Eggleston.
Dr. Vo’s professional appointments include presenting a continuous education course on “Iatrosedation” to Fort Carson’s DENTAC, Colorado Dental Association, and the Colorado Spring’s Front Range CE day. He maintains membership in the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Association of Army Dentistry.
Awards & Recognitions
Dr. Vo graduated from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. Upon graduation, he received the Sepideh Namazikhah Humanitarian Award which is awarded to a member of the graduating doctoral class who has consistently demonstrated compassion, dedication and strength of character during the four-year doctoral program. Additionally, he was placed on Dean’s List while at USC. Dr. Vo also served as a finalist for the Friends of Dentistry Scholarship, awarded the Yoshio Yamaguchi Academy for Excellence in Dentistry Scholarship, awarded the APAA Glendon Shimizu Memorial Scholarship, and awarded the USC Class of 1964 Scholarship throughout his dental school career.
